Jakarta LRT Manggarai-Dukuh Atas Route Targeted for Completion by 2029 at the Latest
The Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta has decided to continue the construction of the Jakarta LRT line from Manggarai to Dukuh Atas. Construction of the 2-kilometre public transport link will commence in the near future.
Governor of DKI Jakarta Pramono Anung Wibowo explained that the construction of the new Jakarta LRT line will not take too long because there is no need for land acquisition. He has even set a target for the construction of the Jakarta LRT line from Manggarai to Dukuh Atas to be completed within at least three years.
‘Later, the LRT from Manggarai will be connected to Dukuh Atas, and hopefully by the end of 2028 or 2029 it will be finished, because there is no land acquisition,’ Pramono said in the Kota Tua area, West Jakarta, on Monday (29/6/2026).
Regarding the budget, he said the DKI Provincial Government is still in discussions. It is estimated that the construction budget will use the DKI Jakarta Regional Budget (APBD). ‘Currently, the budget has been prepared in the current APBD, so work can begin immediately from Manggarai to Dukuh Atas,’ Pramono stated.
Once connected to Dukuh Atas, he continued, the Jakarta LRT will have a total track length of 14.5 kilometres from Kelapa Gading. This will further improve public transport connectivity in Jakarta.
‘If that happens, then from Velodrome to Manggarai currently costs approximately Rp 12.5 trillion, which will be inaugurated at 11 stations with a length of 12.5 km. Later, an additional 2 km will be added to Dukuh Atas. So, around 14.5 km from Velodrome (Kelapa Gading) to Dukuh Atas,’ Pramono said.
