JAKARTA — CNBC Indonesia: The Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov DKI Jakarta) is accelerating construction of the LRT line from Velodrome to Manggarai, with plans to extend it to Dukuh Atas. “The LRT extension from Manggarai to Dukuh Atas has been approved to complete the line from Velodrome to Dukuh Atas,” said Jakarta Governor Pramono Anong on Monday, 1 June 2026. This extension will create a 14.2km route with 12 stations, requiring an additional investment of approximately Rp2.7 trillion. Anong stated the extension ensures the entire route is completed without gaps. Following completion of the Velodrome-Dukuh Atas line, other LRT projects are pending, including routes to Jakarta International Stadium (JIS), Ancol, PIK 2, and Soekarno-Hatta Airport. Anong believes connectivity and transport networks in the capital will significantly improve once all LRT routes and the Balaraja-Cikarang MRT project are completed. “From Velodrome to JIS, Ancol, then onwards to PIK 2 and Soekarno-Hatta, the routes and alignments will be completed in stages. Currently, only the Ancol section is finished,” he added.
