Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has stated that LPDP Jakarta will provide scholarships for further education up to Master’s and Doctoral levels for a maximum of 75 individuals.

“The number will be approximately between 50 to 75 people, and the process will be conducted professionally,” Pramono said in Kramat Raya, Central Jakarta, on Thursday (17/9).

The Jakarta LPDP programme, which was recently signed through Governor Regulation (Pergub) Number 20 of 2026, is set to commence in 2027.

In determining the selection process for scholarship recipients, the Jakarta Provincial Government will collaborate with the central LPDP organisers. This measure is intended to ensure that the selection process is conducted professionally and fairly.

“To ensure this does not become a place where people scramble to secure placements through influence, we are working with the Central LPDP for the determination process,” Pramono explained.

However, regarding the recipients, Pramono explained that certain groups will be prioritised.

“For those being sent abroad, we will prioritise Jakarta residents from underprivileged families who possess strong academic abilities. This has already been regulated within the Governor Regulation,” he clarified.

Previously, the Jakarta Education Office had prepared a budget draft of Rp99.9 billion for the Jakarta LPDP programme. The Head of the Jakarta Education Office, Nahdiana, stated that this programme was established to create opportunities for children in the capital to pursue education abroad.
