Jakarta Launches Mobile Veterinary Clinics, Offering Sterilisation Services

JAKARTA — The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government launched its Mobile Animal Clinic on Friday (10/7/2026). The presence of the Mobile Animal Clinic is expected to broaden access to animal healthcare services for residents.

DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung said the provincial government has prepared five Mobile Animal Clinic units. Each vehicle will operate in every administrative city to serve the animal health needs of Jakarta residents’ pets.

“Jakarta’s status as a rabies-free city must of course continue to be supported, maintained and nurtured. That is why I believe the presence of this Mobile Animal Clinic represents excellent social capital for Jakarta to maintain its status as a rabies-free city, while supporting Jakarta as a global city, an economic centre, and the national capital,” said Pramono.

Pramono explained that each Mobile Animal Clinic is equipped with a veterinarian and medical equipment to provide a range of animal health services. These services include health examinations, examination and treatment of cats, dogs, goats and cattle, minor surgical procedures and sterilisation, as well as ultrasonography (USG) examinations.

Pramono added that in 2026 the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government aims to have 23,000 animals undergo sterilisation. He therefore invited residents to make use of the service as part of efforts to make Jakarta an animal-friendly city.

“I invite all residents to make full use of this service. This is a new breakthrough, perhaps the first of its kind in Indonesia, starting from Jakarta, because we want Jakarta to become a city that is friendly to animals of every kind,” he said.
