JAKARTA (JP): The average share price fell on the Jakarta

JAKARTA (JP): The average share price fell on the Jakarta Stock Exchange (JSX) yesterday with most issues losing ground in heavy trading.

The broad-based Composite Index closed 1.24 points lower at 463.04 after making a slight increase to close at 464.28 on Monday.

The narrower-based GTDBS-50 Index also decreased to close at 108.27 from 108.5.

Trading volume rose to 16.03 million shares valued at Rp 81.89 billion (US$38.07 million) yesterday from 13.20 million shares worth Rp 63.49 billion ($29.51 million) on Monday.

Top gainers were Semen Cibinong (up Rp 275), Inco (up Rp 450) and Metrodata Electronics (up Rp 1,950).

Top losers included Kurnia Kapuas Ugi (down Rp 675), Panca Wiratama Sakti (down Rp 600), Anwar Sierad (down Rp 400), Eratex Djaja (down Rp 300), Petrosea (down Rp 275) and Gajah Surya Multi Finance (down Rp 250).

A total of 7.26 million shares changed hands at Rp 33.46 billion on the regular trading board, 6.7 million shares at Rp 37.73 billion on the crossing board and 2.06 million shares at Rp 10.69 billion on the foreign board.

The block sale, odd lot and cash trading boards recorded no transactions yesterday.(icn)
