JAKARTA (JP): Share prices on the Jakarta Stock Exchange (JSX) continued their upward trend yesterday.
The broad-based Composite Index, which rose 2.48 points to 465.52 on Wednesday, gained another 1.87 points yesterday to close at 467.39. The market was closed on Thursday.
Meanwhile, the narrower-based GTDBS-50 Index strengthened to close at 109.17 from 108.55.
Yesterday's top gainers included Unggul Indah Corp. (+Rp 375), Smart Corp. (+Rp 275), Matahari Putra Prima (+Rp 250), Astra Int'l Inc. (+Rp 225), Petrosea, Mayora and Gadjah Tunggal (+Rp 200 each).
Among the losers were Dankos Laboratories (-Rp 1,700), Delta Jakarta (-Rp 300) and Multi Bintang Indonesia (-Rp 200).
Trading volume rose to 15.24 million shares valued at Rp 80.85 billion (US$37.57 million) from 13.89 million shares worth Rp 71.68 billion (33.35 million) on Wednesday.
Of the total trading volume, 10.14 million shares changed hands at Rp 43.76 billion on the regular market, 3.51 million shares at Rp 23.05 billion on the crossing board, 1.58 shares at Rp 14.03 billion on the foreign board and 250 shares at Rp 1 million on the odd lot board.
The block sale and cash trading boards recorded no transactions. (icn)
