The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has again demonstrated its dominance as the centre of national investment. According to data from the Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming/Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), Jakarta recorded an investment realisation of IDR 94.9 trillion in the second quarter of 2026. This achievement places Jakarta in first place nationally for combined Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and Domestic Direct Investment (DDI) realisation. This investment milestone serves as a strong indicator of increased business confidence in Jakarta under the leadership of Governor Pramono Anung and Deputy Governor Rano Karno. Through various policies promoting ease of doing business, public service reform, and strengthening the investment ecosystem, Jakarta has managed to maintain its position as the premier investment destination in Indonesia. Head of the DKI Jakarta Investment and One-Stop Integrated Service Agency (DPMPTSP), Heru Hermawanto, stated that the IDR 94.9 trillion achievement contributed 18.5 per cent to the total national investment realisation, further cementing Jakarta’s position as the centre of investment and the engine of Indonesia’s economic growth amidst global economic dynamics. The Provincial Government achieved impressive results in the investment sector during the first half of the year. In the second quarter of 2026, Jakarta’s DDI realisation successfully reached IDR 58.6 trillion, placing it first nationally with a contribution of 23.1 per cent to the overall DDI total. Meanwhile, FDI realisation recorded a value of IDR 36.3 trillion, ranking second nationally with a 14.1 per cent contribution to the national FDI total. With these achievements, the accumulated investment realisation for DKI Jakarta Province throughout Semester I (January–June) 2026 reached a total of IDR 173.6 trillion, sourced from IDR 106.5 trillion in DDI and IDR 67.1 trillion in FDI. This success simultaneously consolidates DKI Jakarta Province’s position at the top of the national rankings, outperforming its closest competitor. By comparison, the accumulated investment realisation for West Java Province in Semester I 2026 stood at IDR 138.1 trillion. This performance gap of IDR 35.5 trillion ensures that DKI Jakarta Province emerges as the largest investment magnet in Indonesia for the Semester I 2026 period. ‘Jakarta’s dominance in domestic investment, coupled with the strong flow of foreign investment, shows that Jakarta remains the primary choice for business actors. This combination strengthens the regional economic foundation while enhancing Jakarta’s competitiveness at both national and global levels,’ Heru asserted.
