Jakarta’s investment realisation in the first semester of 2026, which reached Rp173.6 trillion, absorbed 289,000 workers, comprising 220,000 workers from Domestic Investment (PMDN) and approximately 78,000 workers from Foreign Investment (PMA).

Head of the Jakarta Investment Centre (UP JIC) Management Unit, Ezrin Kartika, stated that this achievement demonstrates that investment plays a strategic role as a driver of economic growth as well as an instrument for improving public welfare.

“The success of investment is not only measured by the number of projects that have been or have been successfully built, but also by its economic impact. Investment creates jobs, increases business activity, and drives economic growth,” he said in an official statement received in Jakarta on Thursday.

According to Ezrin, the high level of employment absorption proves that investment entering Jakarta not only brings capital but also opens up job opportunities across various business sectors.

This simultaneously strengthens Jakarta’s position as the centre of national economic activity, supported by infrastructure, markets, and a competitive business ecosystem.

He added that the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government continues to strengthen the investment ecosystem through the simplification of licensing processes, digitalisation of services, provision of increasingly comprehensive investment data, and assistance for investors via the Jakarta Investment Centre (JIC).

Assistance is provided from the interest exploration stage, business matching, coordination with regional apparatuses and municipally owned enterprises (BUMD), through to investment realisation, so that investors obtain certainty and ease in investing in Jakarta.

Furthermore, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will also continue to strengthen synergy with the central government, the business community, and all stakeholders to maintain the positive momentum of investment growth.
