Jakarta Introduces Re-Verification for Free Homecoming Tickets
Jakarta (ANTARA) – The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is implementing a re-verification process for free homecoming tickets on the day of departure to ensure that registered participants are present and that the tickets are not transferred to others. “To ensure that tickets are not transferred, we will conduct a re-verification process on the day of departure at the location,” said the Head of the Road Transport Division of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Transportation Department, Emanuel Kristanto, in the OKESIP (Contemporary Conversation about Public Information) podcast, monitored in Jakarta on Wednesday. Emanuel emphasised that free homecoming tickets must not be transferred or sold to others. Through the Free Homecoming Programme, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government provides safe and comfortable public transport, while also alleviating traffic congestion during the Eid al-Fitr period. “We are coordinating with the Social Service to ensure that those who are eligible receive the programme,” he said. To ensure the safety of travellers, the DKI Jakarta Transportation Department is working with the police, the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), policymakers, and parties directly and indirectly involved in security. This year, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is providing 366 buses for the homecoming flow, an increase compared to 2025, which was 293 buses. For the return flow, 295 buses are provided from 20 destination areas with a quota of 11,800 passengers, an increase compared to 2025, which was 228 buses. In addition to passengers, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is also providing homecoming and return transport for motorcycles. Approximately 15 trucks are provided to transport approximately 50 motorcycles during the homecoming flow and 15 trucks during the return flow. Registration is done online at mudikgratis.jakarta.go.id, by attaching a KTP (identity card) and KK (family card). Registration is divided into three clusters based on the destination area. For those who will be bringing motorcycles, they need to attach a STNK (vehicle registration certificate). The departure of free homecoming participants will be on 17 March 2026 at the Monas (National Monument) area, and for motorcycles, it will be on 16 March 2026 at the Pulogadung Terminal. “For the return flow, motorcycles will depart on 25 March at each destination terminal in 20 cities. For passengers, it will be on 20 March 2026,” he said.
