Jakarta Information Commission urges Central Jakarta administration to improve public information services

The Jakarta Information Commission (KI DKI) is encouraging ten public bodies within the Central Jakarta City Administration (Pemkot Jakpus) to improve the quality of public information services and achieve an ‘Informative’ rating in the 2026 Public Information Disclosure E-Monitoring and Evaluation (E-Monev). “Visitation and guidance are part of KI DKI Jakarta’s commitment to ensuring public bodies continue to improve the implementation of public information disclosure,” said KI DKI Jakarta Chairman Harry Ara Hutabarat in Jakarta on Friday. The ten public bodies participating in the guidance consist of Kampung Rawa Sub-district, Karang Anyar, Kebon Kacang, Kebon Kosong, Kemayoran Sub-district, Kenari Sub-district, Kwitang Sub-district, Gambir Sub-district, Cempaka Putih District Health Centre, and Gambir District Health Centre. “All of them achieved the ‘Towards Informative’ rating with scores between 77 and 88 in the previous E-Monev,” Harry said. For this reason, KI DKI Jakarta is providing evaluation and improvement recommendations for each assessment indicator so that public bodies can increase their score achievements in the upcoming E-Monev. “The Information Commission not only conducts assessments but also acts as a consultative partner for public bodies so they can provide increasingly better information services,” Harry stated. According to him, public bodies that obtain a minimum score of 89 are entitled to hold the ‘Informative’ rating. Harry also stressed the importance of digitising information services, compiling the Public Information List (DIP), and the List of Exempt Information (DIK) as the main instruments of public information services. In addition, every information request must be followed up according to provisions so as not to lead to information disputes. “We hope that the public bodies present today can improve their rating to ‘Informative’. The public is increasingly critical, so public bodies must be ready to provide transparent, fast, and accountable information services,” Harry said. He added that the 2026 Public Information Disclosure E-Monev targets the participation of 1,001 public bodies in Jakarta. He also views Central Jakarta as having a strategic position and the opportunity to become a model in the implementation of public information disclosure. Meanwhile, Central Jakarta City Administration Secretary Deni Ramdani hopes that all public bodies with the ‘Towards Informative’ rating can improve their performance and achieve the ‘Informative’ rating in the 2026 E-Monev. Central Jakarta City Administration Government Assistant Prasetio Kurniawan said the E-Monev results are a serious concern for the city government to encourage the improvement of information disclosure quality across all sub-districts and urban villages.
