Jakarta Information Commission Urges BPJS Kesehatan to Strengthen Public Transparency
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Jakarta Information Commission (KI DKI) is urging BPJS Kesehatan to strengthen the implementation of public information transparency within its healthcare services.
“Transparency is the fundamental foundation for building and maintaining public trust in the health insurance services provided by BPSK Kesehatan,” said the Chairman of KI DKI Jakarta, Harry Ara Hutabarat, during a discussion titled “Implementation of BPJS Kesehatan Information Disclosure” in Jakarta on Tuesday.
According to him, BPJS Kesehatan plays a strategic role in ensuring that the community has access to accurate, easily accessible, and accountable information.
“We thank BPJS Kesehatan in its capacity as a public body. The consistency shown by BPJS Kesehatan Region IV in managing public information disclosure deserves appreciation, as it demonstrates a strong commitment as a public institution,” Harry stated.
He added that through the implementation of public information disclosure, every service provider is expected to become increasingly aware of their position as public servants. He also noted that with public information transparency, daily tasks must be interpreted as a form of service to the citizens.
“In essence, we are all public servants. If this is carried out well, public trust in public bodies will continue to increase,” Harry remarked.
He also reminded the importance of structured public information service governance in accordance with regulations. A fundamental aspect that must be fulfilled is the preparation of the List of Public Information (DIP) and the List of Exempted Information (DIK).
Periodic information that must be announced includes the wealth reports of state officials (LHKPN), work plans and budgets, annual performance accountability reports, information on the procurement of goods and services, the decree for DIP and DIK, as well as standard operating procedures (SOP) for public information requests and appeals.
“The key to managing public information services lies in the preparation of the DIP and DIK. We must ensure that when an information request is made, the Information Management and Documentation Officer (PPID) is not confused about whether the information is open or exempted,” Harry explained.
He explained that the challenges of managing public information in the future are becoming increasingly complex, particularly regarding personal data protection and the classification of information that can be disclosed to the public.
“The challenges ahead are greater. Therefore, if there is still doubt regarding which information is open or exempted, it can be consulted or discussed with BPJS Kesehatan Headquarters regarding the preparation of the DIP and DIK,” Harry said.
He added that public bodies need to ensure the availability of PPID service counters, official websites containing specific PPID menus, facilities for persons with disabilities, and various information service channels that are easily accessible to the community.
Harry emphasised that digitalisation must be a primary focus in the development of public information services, through both online and offline channels. “Therefore, socialisation is a vital part of ensuring the community knows their rights and the mechanisms for obtaining public information,” Harry concluded.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Director of BPJS Kesehatan Region IV, Yessi Kumalasari, stated that the discussion served as a constructive space to strengthen the understanding of all BPJS Kesehatan personnel regarding the implementation of the Public Information Disclosure Act.
“We believe that KI DKI Jakarta always provides an accurate, balanced, and educational perspective. This forum serves as an open space for discussion and to strengthen understanding regarding the implementation of public information disclosure,” said Yessi.
She also mentioned that information transparency is part of BPJS Kesehatan’s commitment to serving the community, and thus the agency continues to strive to provide information that is transparent, accurate, valid, fast, and easily accessible.
BPJS Kesehatan is committed to providing information that is rapid, accessible, accurate, and beneficial to the public.
“However, we also realise that the dissemination of information cannot be done alone. Collaboration with various parties is required so that the information conveyed can reach the community more widely,” Yessi added.
