Jakarta Information Commission urges 829 public bodies to improve transparency
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Information Commission (KI) of DKI Jakarta has called on 829 public bodies to shape up in order to improve the quality of public information services while preparing for the implementation of the 2026 Electronic Monitoring and Evaluation (E-Monev).
This follows recommendations from the 2025 Public Information Transparency E-Monev results, which were compiled based on the Self Assessment Questionnaire (SAQ) used as the assessment instrument for public information transparency.
“We hope these will be promptly followed up by each public body by completing supporting data and making improvements on indicators that have not yet been met,” said Aang Muhdi Gozali, Head of the Institutional Division of KI DKI Jakarta, in a statement issued in Jakarta on Saturday.
He said the delivery of these recommendations forms part of the guidance carried out by KI DKI so that each public body can conduct continuous evaluation and improvement.
According to Aang, this step is a breakthrough that sets KI DKI Jakarta apart from other regions, as it does not merely provide assessment results but also conveys detailed improvement guidance to each public body.
Through these recommendations, each public body receives a list of indicators that have been met as well as those still requiring refinement, so that improvement measures can be carried out in a more targeted manner.
According to Aang, E-Monev should not be viewed merely as an assessment exercise to obtain the “Informative” rating.
More than that, he said, E-Monev must serve as a learning instrument capable of driving continuous improvement in the quality of public information governance.
“With the recommendations we have completed, it is now time for each public body to follow up by refining supporting data and improving indicators that remain unmet,” said Aang.
The 829 public bodies that took part in the 2025 E-Monev comprise Regional Apparatus Organisations (OPD) and Regional Apparatus Work Units (UKPD), the Administrative City and Administrative Regency Governments, Regional-Owned Enterprises (BUMD), law enforcement agencies, land offices, non-structural institutions, as well as senior secondary and junior secondary schools.
