Jakarta Information Commission urges 829 public bodies to improve transparency

The DKI Jakarta Information Commission (KI DKI) has urged 829 public bodies to improve the quality of their public information services and prepare for the 2026 Electronic Monitoring and Evaluation (E-Monev). This call follows the release of recommendations from the 2025 E-Monev on Public Information Disclosure, which were compiled using the Self-Assessment Questionnaire (SAQ) as the evaluation instrument. “We hope each public body will immediately follow up by completing supporting data and addressing indicators that have not been met,” said Aang Muhdi Gozali, Head of Institutional Affairs at KI DKI Jakarta, in a statement on Saturday. He explained that the delivery of these recommendations is part of the commission’s guidance to ensure public bodies can conduct continuous evaluation and improvement. According to Aang, this step is a breakthrough that distinguishes KI DKI Jakarta from other regions, as it not only provides assessment results but also delivers detailed improvement guidelines to each public body. Through these recommendations, each body receives a list of indicators that have been fulfilled and those requiring refinement, allowing for more targeted improvements. Aang stated that E-Monev should not be viewed merely as a contest to obtain an ‘Informative’ predicate. Instead, it must serve as a learning instrument that encourages the sustainable improvement of public information governance. “With the recommendations we have completed, it is now time for every public body to follow up by refining supporting data and improving indicators that are still lacking,” Aang said. The 829 public bodies participating in the 2025 E-Monev consist of Regional Apparatus Organisations (OPD) and Regional Apparatus Work Units (UKPD), city and regency administrations, Regional-Owned Enterprises (BUMD), law enforcement agencies, land offices, non-structural institutions, as well as senior high school, vocational school, and junior high school level educational units.
