Jakarta Information Commission tests transparency of 1,001 public bodies via E-Monev

The Jakarta Provincial Information Commission (KI DKI Jakarta) has launched a self-service E-Monev application and officially commenced the 2026 Electronic Monitoring and Evaluation (E-Monev) of Public Information Openness to test the transparency of 1,001 public bodies in Jakarta.

“E-Monev 2026 targets 1,001 public bodies from 22 categories. The increase in participants from year to year shows the strengthening commitment of public bodies to information openness,” said KI DKI Jakarta Chairman Harry Ara Hutabarat at the opening event at JB Tower, Central Jakarta, on Monday.

He emphasised that beyond the number of participants, the most crucial aspect lies in the quality of participation, including the return of the Self Assessment Questionnaire (SAQ) and the fulfilment of supporting data.

He also assured that the entire testing and assessment process would be conducted professionally, objectively and with integrity, without intervention from any party.

“There are no favours requested of the Information Commission. The entire process must be professional, objective and carried out with integrity,” said Harry.

On the same occasion, Head of the Jakarta Communication, Informatics and Statistics Agency (Kominfotik) Marulina Dewi officially inaugurated the activity and welcomed the strengthening of digitalisation in public information governance.

“The more open the government, the greater the space for the public to provide input, participate and exercise oversight,” said Marulina.

She assessed that E-Monev is not merely a contest to pursue the ‘Informative’ predicate, but rather a continuous evaluation instrument to improve public services so that the information presented is always accurate, up-to-date and responsive.

The E-Monev 2026 completion process is scheduled to take place over one month. In addition, awards for public bodies with the best information openness performance are planned to be held in December 2026.
