Jakarta Information Commission Targets 1,001 Public Bodies for 2026 E-Monev

The DKI Jakarta Provincial Information Commission (KI) is targeting the participation of 1,001 public bodies in the capital for the 2026 Electronic Monitoring and Evaluation (E-Monev) of Public Information Disclosure. KI DKI Jakarta Chairman Harry Ara Hutabarat said on Wednesday that this target represents an increase compared to the 2025 E-Monev implementation, which was attended by 829 public bodies. “The target of 1,001 public bodies is not just about the numbers. It is a representation of the spirit to expand the culture of information disclosure in Jakarta,” Harry said. According to Harry, the 1,001 figure is a symbol of broadening the information disclosure movement, where more massive involvement will strengthen transparent, participatory and accountable governance. He explained that E-Monev is a strategic instrument to measure the level of public body compliance in carrying out the mandate of Law Number 14 of 2008 concerning Public Information Disclosure. Through this instrument, public bodies are encouraged to improve the quality of information services to the community and are not solely assessed from administrative aspects. Based on KI DKI data, the trend of public body participation in E-Monev has continued to surge significantly from year to year. In 2025, the number of participants reached 829 public bodies, an increase of around 160 per cent compared to 519 public bodies in 2024. This spike appears even more striking when compared to 2023, which was only attended by 232 public bodies, and 2017, which only recorded 49 participating public bodies. “This achievement shows the increasing awareness of public bodies regarding the importance of information disclosure. However, participation needs to continue to be expanded so that the benefits can be felt more widely by the community,” he said. Furthermore, Harry stressed that the digital era demands public bodies be able to provide information that is fast, easily accessible, accurate and relevant in order to build public trust. To realise the target of 1,001 public bodies, KI DKI Jakarta is committed to continuing to intensify synergies in socialisation, assistance, and periodic coaching for public bodies across various sectors so they can meet the established information service standards. “One thousand and one public bodies is a symbol that information disclosure must reach all sectors. This is a collective movement to ensure that the public’s right to public information is optimally fulfilled,” said Harry.
