Jakarta Information Commission encourages SMAN 71 to become a model for SPMB 2026 transparency
The Chairman of the DKI Jakarta Information Commission, Harry Ara Hutabarat, is encouraging SMAN 71 Jakarta to become a pilot school for transparency in the 2026 Student Admission Selection (SPMB) to ensure the entire student admission process is open and accessible to the public. “Transparency in SPMB information is considered an urgent need to protect the public’s right to clear information,” said Harry during a 2026 Monitoring and Evaluation (E-Monev) visit to SMAN 71 in Duren Sawit, East Jakarta, on Thursday. He assessed the visit as important because it directly involves students and serves as early socialisation of public information openness. “This is a major breakthrough for the education sector,” stated Harry. He stressed that information openness is not merely about pursuing an informative predicate but about building an integrity-driven, robust, and sustainable information service system. “It’s not just about seeking awards; what is being built is a strong and transparent system,” said Harry. Regarding information openness during the SPMB period, which always attracts public attention annually, he stated that SPMB information must not be hidden and must be ensured to be easily accessible, clear, and straightforward for the public. “This is a moment for maximum transparency that the school must maintain,” Harry emphasised firmly. On that occasion, he presented evaluation notes on E-Monev indicators, ranging from the quality of budget information, on-the-spot information facilities, public information services, to organisational commitment. “Two things that the PPID (Public Information and Documentation Officer) must master are the Public Information List (DIP) and the Excluded Information List (DIK),” explained Harry. The DKI Jakarta Information Commission awarded SMAN 71 a certificate for the “Towards Informative” predicate with a score of 85.89 as appreciation for its commitment to building a culture of public information openness. Meanwhile, SMAN 71’s PPID, Listiana, reaffirmed the school’s commitment to continuously improving the quality of public information services. “SMAN 71 is committed to enhancing public information services with good progress,” revealed Listiana.
