Jakarta Information Commission: 2026 E-Monev to Focus on Waste Sorting and Management Initiative
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Jakarta Provincial Information Commission (KI) has stated that the 2026 Electronic Monitoring and Evaluation (E-Monev) for Public Information Disclosure will feature a specific focus on transparency regarding the Waste Sorting and Management Movement programme, championed by Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung.
“This will serve as a special thematic assessment area to be reviewed within periodic information, immediate information, and digitalisation aspects,” said the Chairman of KI Jakarta, Harry Ara Hutabarrat, during a Technical Guidance (Bimtek) session for the 2026 E-Monev in Jakarta on Monday.
According to him, this theme aligns with the Jakarta Provincial Government’s policies, which are expected to encourage public bodies to provide information relevant to community needs while supporting the resolution of strategic issues in Jakarta. “Therefore, this programme can be widely accessed by the public,” Harry added.
Meanwhile, the Head of Institutional Affairs at the Jakarta Information Commission, Aang Muhdi Gozali, expressed appreciation for the participation and commitment of all public bodies in the 2026 E-Monev. “E-Monev is not merely an annual activity, but serves as both a mirror and an instrument to observe the extent to which public information disclosure is being implemented by public bodies,” said Aang.
He noted that the Technical Guidance session held on Monday via online platform was attended by 1,001 public bodies, divided into 22 categories, as part of the 2026 E-Monev implementation series. During the session, experts from the Jakarta Information Commission provided technical guidance on completing the Self-Assessment Questionnaire (SAQ), including procedures for submission and providing supporting evidence accurately, completely, and accountably.
Aang also urged public bodies not to treat E-Monev merely as an administrative requirement or an attempt to achieve a specific rating. He stated that E-Monev evaluation results should be utilised as a basis for improving the management and service of public information.
He further encouraged public bodies to update information regularly and introduce innovations through the use of digital technology. Public information, according to Aang, must be delivered in an easy, fast, accurate, and accountable manner. “The implementation of E-Monev is expected to be a momentum to strengthen the culture of public information disclosure so that its benefits can be tangibly felt by the people of Jakarta,” Aang expressed.
Previously, Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung expressed his appreciation for the launch of the 2026 E-Monev application for Public Information Disclosure by the Jakarta Information Commission. He assessed that the digitalisation of the E-Monev process is a vital step towards achieving monitoring and evaluation of information disclosure that is increasingly easy, effective, transparent, and accountable.
“With this E-Monev application, the monitoring and evaluation process is expected to become easier, more effective, transparent, and accountable,” Pramono added.
Furthermore, he invited all public bodies to work together to improve the quality of public information disclosure. “Let us realise a Jakarta that is open, trusted, and ready to go global,” Pramono concluded.
