Jakarta Homecoming Programme Launches with "Happy Shopping, Profits Arrive" Campaign
Jakarta — The Jakarta Provincial Government has unveiled a programme called “Mudik ke Jakarta” (Homecoming to Jakarta) with the main tagline “Jakarta Lengang, Liburan dan Belanja Senang, Cuan Datang” (Jakarta Peaceful, Holiday and Happy Shopping, Profits Arrive).
Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung announced the initiative at a press conference in Jakarta on Tuesday. The Governor explained that the theme was chosen because, whilst many Jakarta residents travel home for the holiday, the capital will remain bustling during the Lebaran festivities.
The “Mudik ke Jakarta” programme will run from 27 February through 31 March 2026.
The packages offered under the programme include:
Hotel promotions: special pricing with a “pay 2 get 3 nights” offer at 26 hotels across Jakarta;
Shopping vouchers at eight ITC Group outlets;
Discounts and special prices at various tourism areas, including recreational and entertainment venues, museums, cinemas, golf courses, spas and other attractions;
Discounted or special fares for Citilink flights and Indonesian Railways services with Jakarta as a destination;
Private city tour packages.
Jakarta Festive Wonder, an accompanying event involving 101 shopping centres throughout the capital, will offer discounts of up to 80 per cent. Visitors enjoying the holiday, shopping and sightseeing in Jakarta will also be able to use public transport free of charge during the campaign period.
Whilst the Jakarta Provincial Government is hosting various activities as part of the Mudik ke Jakarta programme, it is simultaneously providing comprehensive support for residents wishing to celebrate Lebaran in their home towns. “The Jakarta Provincial Government is providing maximum facilities, whether transport, buses, vehicle inspections and so on,” Governor Pramono stated.
