Jakarta Holiday Homecoming Programme Offers Up to 80 Percent Shopping Discounts and Tourism Packages
JAKARTA — The Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov DKI Jakarta) has launched the “Mudik ke Jakarta” programme to attract tourists to the capital during the 2026 Eid al-Fitr holiday period.
The programme offers various promotions ranging from shopping discounts of up to 80 percent at major shopping malls to tourism packages covering several popular destinations in Jakarta.
Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung said the programme is themed “Jakarta Serene, Holiday and Shopping Fun, Profits Come.”
According to him, although millions of Jakarta residents are expected to return to their hometowns during the Eid holiday, the capital still holds appeal for tourists who wish to enjoy their holidays in a quieter atmosphere.
“This Jakarta Holiday Homecoming is a new programme and we hope the public can enjoy it,” said Pramono after a leadership meeting at Jakarta City Hall on Tuesday (10 March 2026).
The discount programme will run from 4 March to 31 March 2026.
“Several shopping centres will offer discounts of up to 80 percent. So there will be 80 percent discounts, 70 percent discounts, Ramadan sales and so on starting from 4 March to 31 March,” said Pramono.
The Provincial Government hopes the promotions will attract tourists whilst also boosting economic activity during the Ramadan and Eid holiday period.
Jakarta’s Assistant for Economics and Finance, Suharini Eliawati, said the tourism packages have been prepared in collaboration with travel agent associations.
Several destinations included in the tourism packages include Mini Indonesia Park (TMII), Taman Impian Jaya Ancol, and Ragunan Zoo.
“We are collaborating with associations such as the Indonesian Travel Agents Association to create bundled tourism packages at TMII, Ragunan, and Ancol,” said Eliawati.
According to her, the tourism packages are expected to make it easier for tourists to enjoy various destinations in Jakarta during the Eid holiday period.
