The Jakarta High Prosecutor’s Office (Kejati DKI) has named three new suspects in a case of alleged corruption at the Ministry of Public Works (PU). The alleged corruption relates to bribery and fictitious project procurement. One of the three suspects is YRW, the former acting Director of Irrigation and Swamps at the Directorate General of Water Resources from July 2025 to January 2026. “We have named YRW, the former acting Director of Irrigation and Swamps at the Directorate General of Water Resources from July 2025 to January 2026, as a suspect in a case of alleged corruption involving extortion and/or bribery and/or gratification and/or abuse of authority in several projects at the Directorate General of Water Resources of the Ministry of Public Works for the 2023 to 2025 fiscal years,” said the Head of the Legal Information Section of the Jakarta High Prosecutor’s Office, Dapot Dariarma, in a statement on Thursday (25/6). In this case, YRW is known to have extorted and/or received bribes and/or gratuities in the form of cash totalling more than Rp2 billion from several state-owned construction companies and private parties related to projects at the Directorate General of Water Resources. The extortion or receipt of bribes was carried out by YRW together with DP, the Director General of Water Resources from July 2025 to January 2026, who had previously been named a suspect. Besides YRW, the two other new suspects are RW, the Director of CV TAS/Service Provider at the Secretariat of the Directorate General of Human Settlements, and JSR, the Director of PT BKS. Both were named suspects in a case of alleged corruption in the implementation of routine expenditure at the Secretariat of the Directorate General of Human Settlements of the Ministry of Public Works for the 2023 to 2025 period. “The roles of RW and JSR were to jointly, with other suspects, engineer fictitious projects at the Secretariat General of Human Settlements for the 2023 and 2024 periods, causing state losses of at least more than Rp16 billion,” Dapot said. Dapot stated that investigators have also seized two luxury cars and a sum of cash in US dollars in this case. YRW is charged under Article 12 letter e or Article 12 letter a or Article 12 letter b or Article 12B paragraphs (1) and (2) of Law Number 31 of 1999 as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments to Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Corruption, or Article 606 paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 20 of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code.
