Jakarta Guard Patrol: Metro Police Mobile Brigade Foils Brawl in Bekasi
The Metro Jaya Police Mobile Brigade unit broke up a teenage brawl in Bekasi City, West Java. Police detained several youths and confiscated sharp weapons used in the brawl. Mobile Brigade Commander for Metro Jaya Police, Senior Commissioner Henik Maryanto, stated that personnel from the Mobile Brigade Patrol of Company 2, Battalion D, carried out sweeps at several locations in the early hours of Wednesday (10/6). The patrols were conducted to anticipate teenage brawls, illegal racing, muggings, and other street crimes. “This patrol activity is a routine effort that has been intensified to support the Jaga Jakarta programme while maintaining public order and security to ensure conditions remain conducive,” said Senior Commissioner Henik in a statement on Wednesday (10/6/2026). While conducting patrols in the Kampung Poncol area, North Bekasi, officers encountered a group of teenagers suspected of planning a brawl. The Mobile Brigade Patrol team then moved to secure two teenagers along with evidence including several pieces of ‘cocor bebek’ bladed weapons and a bamboo pole found at the scene. The patrol continued to Jalan Raya Pulo Sirih, Sukajadi Village, Sukatani District, Bekasi Regency. Officers again secured five teenagers suspected of involvement in a brawl along with evidence including two sharp weapons and bamboo poles. “The presence of personnel in the field is a form of the National Police’s commitment to maintaining a safe and conducive situation, especially from night until the early hours,” said Senior Commissioner Henik. Henik stated that patrols will continue to be intensified, especially in locations that could potentially become gathering points for perpetrators of brawls and illegal racing. The National Police urged the public to report any criminal activity to the Police 110 service.
