Jakarta Guarantees Objective and Transparent New Student Admission System
The Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta has assured that the implementation of the New Student Admission System (SPMB) for the 2026/2027 Academic Year will be carried out objectively, transparently, accountably, and without discrimination. βThe entire process can be openly accessed by the public and the selection results can be accounted for in accordance with applicable regulations. It will not differentiate based on ethnicity, race, gender, socio-economic status, or background,β said Sarjoko, Deputy Head of the DKI Jakarta Education Office, in a statement in Jakarta on Tuesday. He stated that all stages of the SPMB will be conducted online to ensure the admission process runs effectively, transparently, and is easily accessible to the public. Meanwhile, Ferid Nugroho, Commissioner for Education, Socialisation, and Advocacy at the DKI Jakarta Information Commission, said the commission will oversee the implementation of the SPMB for the 2026/2027 Academic Year to ensure it proceeds transparently, accountably, objectively, and fairly by strengthening public information disclosure. According to Ferid, information disclosure is one of the main factors supporting the successful implementation of the SPMB. He noted that the SPMB is a public service concerning the broad interests of the community. Therefore, all information related to registration mechanisms, selection pathways, requirements, quotas, stages, and selection results must be openly available and easily accessible to the public.
