Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Indonesian Shopping Centre Management Association (APPBI) DPD DKI Jakarta targets retail transactions in the Jakarta Great Sale Festival (FJGS) 2026 to reach Rp16 trillion as part of an effort to boost public purchasing power. The target is expected to be achieved during FJGS 2026, from 10 June to 22 July 2026. “We are optimistic that retail transactions during FJGS 2026 can reach Rp16 trillion,” said acting chair (Plt) of the Jakarta Great Sale Festival 2026, Ellen Hidayat, in a statement in Jakarta on Wednesday. Ellen said the projection is higher than last year’s Rp15.5 trillion. The festival, themed ‘Jakarta Shopping Full of Stories’ as part of the journey toward 5 centuries of Jakarta, is also to commemorate the 499th anniversary of the City of Jakarta. According to him, FJGS is not just an annual promotional agenda. It is also a form of collaboration among shopping centres, business players, MSMEs, and the Jakarta Provincial Government in driving the capital’s economy. Moreover, this year’s FJGS also serves as a moment to promote Betawi culture amid globalization. The optimism is supported by various programmes prepared to attract public interest. “From discounts of up to 70 percent, All Day Sale, Midnight Sale, to a shopping programme with a prize of an electric car AION V Exclusive via the E-Shoppercard app, gold and diamond jewellery totalling Rp50 million, and shopping vouchers worth Rp150 million,” she said. In addition to shopping programmes, FJGS 2026 will also present various social and cultural activities, including blood donation, free health checks, an exhibition of MSMEs nurtured by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, and a defilé parade at Bundaran HI (Hotel Indonesia Roundabout) to welcome the 5th Century of Jakarta. This year, APPBI DPD DKI Jakarta has partnered with BTN as the main sponsor in the Bank Partner category for FJGS 2026. BTN’s SEVP Digital Business Thomas Wahyudi said BTN’s support for FJGS 2026 is an important momentum to spur economic growth and consumer spending, particularly in supporting the acceleration of digital transactions, boosting the growth of the retail sector, and strengthening the capital city’s economic ecosystem. “FJGS serves as a space for collaboration among business players, shopping centres, banking, and local government in building healthy and sustainable economic circulation,” he added. Thomas also noted BTN is offering various promotional programmes and transaction facilities for customers through balé by BTN. During FJGS 2026, BTN has prepared various special promotions for users of the balé by BTN app, including transaction cashback, discounts at selected merchants, and attractive prize schemes to boost digital transactions. FJGS 2026 runs from 10 June to 22 July 2026 and features thousands of retail outlets from 104 shopping centres that are members of APPBI DPD DKI Jakarta. As part of the run-up to the opening, APPBI DPD DKI Jakarta will also hold a Fun Badminton Tournament between shopping centres on 2–3 June 2026 at the Main Atrium of Emporium Pluit Mall. The event will involve 35 shopping centres belonging to APPBI DKI Jakarta. The Jakarta Great Sale Festival 2026 is scheduled to be opened and inaugurated by Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung on Wednesday (10 June) at Central Park Mall 2 (CP2), Jakarta.
