Jakarta Governor's Message to New Transport Chief: Resolve Illegal Parking Issues

The parking chaos in Jakarta has reached an emergency level.

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Governor of Jakarta, Pramono Anung Wibowo, has instructed the newly appointed Head of the Transportation Agency (Kadishub) to address the issue of illegal parking in the capital.

The position of Head of the Jakarta Transportation Agency is now held by Budi Awaluddin, effective from 1 June 2026.

“This is the task of the new Head of the Transportation Agency. One of the primary duties is to resolve the illegal parking issues existing in the Blok M area. Therefore, if this cannot be resolved, the complaints will be directed straight to Mr Budi,” Pramono stated firmly when met in the South Jakarta area on Tuesday.

Previously, the issue of illegal parking was also highlighted by Jakarta Regional Legislative Council (DPRD) member Hardiyanto Kenneth. He assessed that the parking problem in the capital has entered an emergency stage of governance and can no longer be considered merely a technical field issue.
