Jakarta (ANTARA) - Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has stated that he will soon prepare derivative regulations, particularly for DKI residents, following the issuance of Government Regulation number 17 of 2025 on the Governance of Electronic Systems in Child Protection (PP Tunas). “We will soon prepare derivative regulations for the DKI Jakarta Government. Later, we will formulate it together with the DPRD,” Pramono said in Jakarta on Monday. He explained that the regulation issued by the central government is certainly intended for the benefit of children as the nation’s successors. According to him, the dangers posed when children consume inappropriate content on social media can have negative impacts, as they are not yet able to filter information. Therefore, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government supports PP Tunas by preparing its derivative regulations. “Because in any case, dangers from threats can arise, since children are not yet mature. Then, if they consume content prematurely, it will certainly have a negative impact,” Pramono stated. As is known, Ministerial Regulation of Communication and Digital No. 9 of 2026, as an implementing regulation of Government Regulation No. 17 of 2025 on the Governance of Electronic Systems in Child Protection (PP Tunas), takes effect from 28 March 2026. The regulation limits children from various high-risk digital platforms, particularly eight digital platforms in the initial implementation, namely YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, Threads, Instagram, X, Bigo Live, and Roblox.
