Jakarta Governor Seeks to Prioritise Orphans Yet to Receive KJP
Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo wants children who are orphans and have not yet received the Jakarta Smart Card (KJP) to become priority recipients of the assistance. Attending the Muharram Santunan Belanja Bersama Anak Yatim event organised by Baznas Bazis DKI Jakarta at Gajah Mada Plaza, Central Jakarta, Pramono expressed his wish for all 150 orphans at the event to become KJP recipients. “Hopefully this will be a foundation for them to get the best possible education. Including those in this room, I hope the 150 have received KJP. If not, I will ask the Education Agency and the Social Agency to prioritise them as recipients of the DKI Jakarta Provincial KJP,” Pramono said when met at the event on Thursday. According to Pramono, KJP can be an initial step for children to gain access to higher education. He hopes that KJP recipients can later continue their education through the Jakarta Superior Student Card (KJMU) programme, and even obtain an LPDP Jakarta scholarship. In this way, these children can have the opportunity to achieve a better future. On the occasion, Pramono also appreciated Baznas Bazis DKI Jakarta for holding the Santunan Muharam Belanja Bersama Anak Yatim programme. According to him, the programme benefits thousands of orphans and families in need. A total of 3,440 children received benefits from the Santunan Muharam Belanja Bersama Anak Yatim programme, which was held to enliven Muharam 1448 Hijriah.
