Jakarta Governor Pramono to Lead Eid Al-Fitr Prayers at Istiqlal Mosque and Hold Open House at City Hall
Jakarta — Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung will lead Eid Al-Fitr prayers at Istiqlal Mosque and host an open house at the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government City Hall to welcome the celebration of Eid Al-Fitr for the Islamic year 1447 Hijrah.
“I will perform the Eid prayer as planned, likely at Istiqlal Mosque. However, the open house celebration with the community will be held simply at City Hall together with the Deputy Governor,” said Pramono to journalists in Pure Segera, North Jakarta, on Sunday.
Pramono added that in preparation for the massive wave of holiday travellers returning home, the DKI Jakarta government has coordinated with the central government, the Metro Jaya Police, and the Jaya Military Command to provide the best service for anyone departing Jakarta.
Combined personnel will be deployed to various departure points for the exodus, including train stations, bus terminals, and coach stations already prepared for the surge.
The government also urged residents travelling home to report to their neighbourhood associations (RT and RW) to ensure the security of empty houses.
“We are simply appealing, requesting once more, to all residents who will be travelling home, please report to your RT/RW. So that if anything happens, there is someone to look after things and someone responsible,” he said.
The DKI Jakarta Provincial Civil Police Unit (Satpol PP) has deployed 1,790 personnel to maintain security and order during the exodus and Lebaran holiday period in 2026.
Security measures have been implemented to anticipate potential security disruptions during the Lebaran exodus period, when many residents’ homes are left vacant.
Surveillance will also focus on tourist areas and crowded public spaces expected to experience increased visitor numbers after Lebaran.
