Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung revealed that tourist visits to the capital continued to increase throughout the first semester of 2026. A total of 8.82 million domestic tourist trips were recorded, while foreign tourist arrivals rose by 8.17 percent to 1.04 million visits.

Speaking on the matter, Pramono stated, “These various activities have successfully boosted economic activity, tourism, and public consumption. Tourism indicators also show a very significant increase.”

Pramono noted that the surge in visitors was driven by events organised by the Jakarta Provincial Government, particularly the Jakarta Festival of Wonder series, which he said generated economic transactions worth Rp 67.5 trillion. “To encourage economic activity and public consumption, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government also provided various fiscal incentives for event organisers. Alhamdulillah, this pushed transactions to Rp 67.5 trillion through the Jakarta Festival of Wonder series,” he explained.

He emphasised that the administration would maintain this momentum by strengthening the tourism sector and enhancing the quality of public transportation and supporting infrastructure. “Jakarta used to be known only as a business and government centre. Now, it is experiencing a significant increase in tourist visits,” he added.
