Jakarta Governor Orders Education Agency to Check Unrecorded Damaged Schools
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo has asked the Head of the Jakarta Education Office, Nahdiana, and the school repair investigation team to check whether there are any other damaged schools that have yet to be recorded.
“If the question is whether there are more, I will ask the head of the office. The inventory team we set up will carry out checks on everything,” Pramono explained after inspecting SDN Kebayoran Lama Selatan 09 Pagi in South Jakarta on Friday.
According to Pramono, 22 schools in the capital are currently recorded as needing repairs. However, due to budget efficiency measures, the Jakarta government will prioritise only seven schools for construction this year.
In addition, the Jakarta government has added four schools assessed as severely damaged to the priority list, bringing the total number of schools prioritised for repair to 11.
The four additional schools prioritised are SDN Kebayoran Lama Selatan 09 Pagi with a budget of Rp48.1 billion, SMA Negeri 102 Jakarta with a budget of Rp67.5 billion, SD Negeri Cempaka Putih Barat 03 with a budget of Rp48.4 billion, and SD Negeri Papanggo 01 and TKN Papanggo 01 with a budget of Rp74.1 billion.
Pramono explained that his administration will use funds from the Building Floor Coefficient (KLB) scheme and the Amended Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD-P) to repair these schools.
This is because waiting for the regular APBD budget would involve a lengthy process, requiring considerable time before a decision could be made.
“If we wait for the APBD budget, it would have to be next year. The deliberation process is quite lengthy. So we decided to start with the KLB funds, which means some allocations need to be shifted, and I will decide on that later,” Pramono explained.
