Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has offered 3arr 37 strategic projects with a total value of approximately Rp115 trillion to investors during the Jakarta Investment Festival 2026 on Friday (28/8) at the Shangri-La Hotel, Jakarta.

These projects encompass various sectors such as property, hospitality, the development of commercial and mixed-use areas, and transit-oriented development (TOD). The Jakarta Provincial Government is opening opportunities for investors to provide capital, technology, expertise, and innovative business models.

One of the priority projects is the Sunter Intermediate Treatment Facility (ITF), a waste-to-energy facility with a processing capacity of up to 2,020 tons per day and an electricity capacity of up to 35 megawatts. The investment value for this project is estimated to reach Rp5.3 trillion.

“The Sunter ITF is designed to reduce waste volume by more than 80 percent while generating up to 35 megawatts of electricity, with an estimated project value of Rp5.3 trillion,” said Pramono, according to CNN Indonesia.

This project is also part of Jakarta’s commitment to strengthening waste management and achieving a zero-dumping target by 2028. The Provincial Government is preparing support such as land provision, guarantees for waste supply, waste service fees, and a clear regulatory framework for investors.

The Executive Director of Public Service (JPS), M Syaiful Jihad, has called for in-depth studies regarding environmental, technological, public health, and residue management aspects before the waste-to-energy (WTE) facility at the Sunter ITF is operational.

“The Jakarta Provincial Government needs to conduct thorough studies before the WTE facility is operated, particularly regarding environmental aspects, technology, public health, and the management of residues resulting from waste processing,” said Syaiful Jihad, according to Media Indonesia.

Member of the MPR from the DPD RI for the Jakarta constituency, Fahira Idris, welcomed the investment project offers, noting that the portfolio presents an opportunity to accelerate Jakarta’s transformation into a global city and strengthen the developmental benefits for citizens.

“I appreciate the Provincial Government’s step in opening these 37 strategic projects to investors. Jakarta requires quality investment that brings capital, technology, expertise, and innovation, creating jobs and accelerating the improvement of city quality,” said Fahira Idris, according to Detik.com.

Fahira explained that there are five strategic reasons for investor involvement, including accelerating the physical and service transformation of the city, expanding development financing sources, creating new growth centres, accelerating transport-based urban development, and strengthening Jakarta’s confidence and competitiveness as a global investment destination.

She also emphasised the importance of transparent governance and healthy partnerships to ensure these projects can run effectively and provide clear social benefits.
