Jakarta Provincial Government has officially launched the Jakarta Ramadan Festival at Bundaran HI, Central Jakarta, on Friday, 27 February 2026. The festival, themed “Homecoming to Jakarta,” has been specifically designed to invigorate the capital, particularly during the Eid season when many residents typically travel to their hometowns.

Governor Pramono Anung announced that the festival will run until 31 March 2026. Throughout the festival, various religious, cultural and entertainment activities, along with shopping promotions, will be presented to enliven Ramadan and Eid celebrations in Jakarta.

“Various activities include the Jakarta Light Festival and Jakarta Festive Wonder. The main theme is Homecoming to Jakarta,” he said on Friday, 27 February 2026.

He explained his deliberate choice of the “Homecoming to Jakarta” theme, saying he wanted to invite residents to enjoy the beauty of Ramadan and Eid in the capital.

Pramono detailed that numerous tourism and recreation promotion packages have been arranged by the Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI), the Indonesian Travel Agent Association (Astindo), and Jakarta Experience Board. Various incentives have been prepared, ranging from hotel promotions offering “pay 2 get 3 nights” at 26 hotels, shopping vouchers at eight ITC Group outlets, discounts at tourist attractions, reduced airfare on Citilink and Indonesian Railways flights to Jakarta, to private city tour packages.

“We will provide facilities, including tax incentives for shopping centres and hotels so they can offer significant discounts. At its peak, I am confident discounts could reach 70 per cent,” he said.

According to him, 101 shopping centres will participate in the Jakarta Festive Wonder. The target transaction value during this period is Rp15 trillion, an increase from the previous achievement of Rp13 trillion.

The programme is said to feature discounts up to 70 per cent, midnight sales, draws, and a UMKM corner. Jakarta Provincial Government will also conduct a campaign promoting QRIS payment methods to strengthen the Ramadan economy’s circulation and boost consumer purchasing power.

Additionally, several flagship programmes have been prepared to enliven the Jakarta Ramadan Festival, including the Jakarta Light Festival themed “Ramadan Light in Jakarta” from 19 February to 24 March 2026. There will also be Ramadan Harmony Jakarta daily from 16.00–17.30 Western Indonesia Time, featuring hadrah, marawis, qasidah and nasyid performances that bring a religious atmosphere.
