Jakarta Provincial Government has waived administrative penalties for late payment of Vehicle Tax (PKB) and Vehicle Transfer Tax (BBNKB) from 1 June to 31 August 2026.

The policy was enacted via Regulation No. e-0018 of 2026 issued by the Head of Jakarta’s Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda) concerning the Official Waiver of Administrative Penalties for PKB and BBNKB.

Lusiana Herawati, Head of Jakarta’s Bapenda, stated the move aims to celebrate Jakarta’s 499th anniversary while encouraging residents to comply with vehicle tax payments.

“Under this policy, taxpayers can settle their vehicle tax obligations without late payment interest,” Lusiana said in a written statement on Saturday, 30 May 2026.

Taxpayers therefore do not need to submit applications or complete additional administrative procedures to avail of the waiver.

Lusiana explained the administrative penalty waiver applies to outstanding PKB and BBNKB dues.

The waived penalties consist of interest accrued from late payment or tax submission.

“Vehicle owners with outstanding tax dues can now settle their obligations without paying late payment penalties,” she added.

Bapenda Jakarta confirmed the penalty waiver is automatic and applied by the system without requiring individual requests.

Taxpayers need not submit application letters, request penalty removal, or visit tax service offices for additional administrative procedures.

“We hope this policy will boost public compliance with vehicle tax payments and streamline regional tax services,” Lusiana said.

In addition to easing taxpayers’ burdens, the initiative aims to allow residents to settle tax obligations without additional late payment interest.
