Jakarta Government Strengthens Digital Information Services for Overseas Employment
The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is continuously strengthening digital employment information services to make it easier for the public to access the latest information on overseas job opportunities.
Head of the Manpower Placement Division at the DKI Jakarta Manpower, Transmigration, and Energy Agency (Disnakertransgi), Taufik, stated that this strengthening includes integrating the Karier Jakarta platform with central government systems, including the SIAPkerja system of the Ministry of Manpower and the system owned by the Ministry for the Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (KP2MI).
“We are providing opportunities for job seekers to constantly update themselves in obtaining job vacancies, both domestic and overseas. We will integrate Karier Jakarta with the systems at the central government, both SIAPkerja and the KP2MI’s SISKO,” he said in East Jakarta on Tuesday.
Taufik reminded job seekers not to focus solely on the opportunity to get a job, but also to prepare their competence, character, integrity, discipline, and adaptability. “The current world of work requires human resources, not just a diploma. To job seekers, make the best use of this opportunity. Prepare yourselves, improve your competence, build a professional, adaptive, and disciplined work character, and keep learning,” he said.
The Jakarta Provincial Government hopes the programme will open wider access for the public to obtain decent work while improving welfare.
Furthermore, Taufik added that the Jakarta Provincial Government will send off approximately 500 Jakarta residents to work overseas in December 2026. “God willing, in December, we will send off around 500 DKI Jakarta residents by the Governor of DKI Jakarta (Pramono Anung) to go overseas, supported by the capacity-building programme for prospective Indonesian migrant workers and Indonesian migrant workers in 2026,” he said.
Taufik stated that international job opportunities are an alternative the government continues to promote to expand employment opportunities for the public. According to him, overseas job opportunities are quite substantial. The Jakarta Provincial Government has even recorded around 200,000 overseas job opportunities that the public can utilise.
One of the overseas job opportunities available comes from the Mongolian Government, which has opened up job opportunities for Jakarta residents by providing around 8,000 job vacancies. This information was obtained after Disnakertransgi received an audience with representatives from Mongolia last week. Although these opportunities have not yet entered the recruitment stage, Taufik mentioned that the process is currently awaiting a recruitment permit letter from the Ministry for the Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (KP2MI).
