Jakarta Government Seeks CSR Scheme to Accelerate Tendean Footbridge Reconstruction

The Jakarta Provincial Government is preparing several funding alternatives to accelerate the reconstruction of the Tendean Footbridge (JPO), which was severely damaged after being hit by a crane truck recently. Governor Pramono Anung stated that relying solely on the regional budget (APBD) would make the process too lengthy. “In principle, it cannot take too long to be rebuilt because it is a strategic location,” Pramono said in East Jakarta on Thursday. He is seeking solutions, including a corporate social responsibility (CSR) funding scheme or a strategic partnership with a company that could secure the naming rights for the bridge. The administration is also reviewing other mechanisms, such as the utilisation of floor area ratio (KLB) incentives or land consolidation permits (SP3L). The Tendean Footbridge collapsed on Tuesday morning after a heavy equipment transport truck became snagged on the structure.
