Jakarta Government Prepares Labour-Intensive Job Opportunities for Residents

The Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta is preparing labour-intensive job opportunities for residents holding Jakarta identity cards, with work periods ranging from one to three months depending on the specific needs of each field project. “These labour-intensive job opportunities are designed so that urban development and maintenance activities also provide direct benefits to residents,” said Afan Adriansyah Idris, Assistant for Development and Environment at the DKI Jakarta Regional Secretariat, in a statement in Jakarta on Tuesday. Afan explained that participants in the labour-intensive programme will work through third parties or contractors assigned to each activity. They are not recruited under the employment scheme of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government or as Individual Other Service Providers (PJLP). Through this programme, city development and maintenance projects are expected to deliver direct economic benefits while serving as temporary support for residents in need of additional income. Four regional agencies are opening job opportunities in the labour-intensive sector: the Highways Agency, the Parks and Urban Forest Agency, the Water Resources Agency, and the Environment Agency. Announcements and registration processes will be carried out in stages according to the needs of each agency. Interested residents can register through the jakarta.go.id website, with requirements including possession of a DKI Jakarta ID card and belonging to welfare categories Desil 1 to 5. “We are prioritising this programme for residents who need it most. Therefore, every applicant will be verified to ensure they meet the established criteria and match the available job requirements,” Afan said. Information regarding the types of jobs, locations, work periods, and registration mechanisms will be disseminated through official channels of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government. The information will be released in stages so that the public receives a more comprehensive explanation of these labour-intensive job opportunities.
