Jakarta Golf Club project underway
JAKARTA (JP): PT Megacity Development Corporation, the owner of the Jakarta Golf Club, a 31-tower apartment project in Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, held a ground-breaking ceremony yesterday to start the construction of the prestigious five-year project.
The ground-breaking ceremony was attended by Minister/State Secretary Moerdiono, who is chairman of the Kemayoran Complex Board of Management, and Minister of Public Housing Akbar Tandjung.
The Jakarta Golf Club project is to be constructed on 46.5 hectares of land, of which 22.5 hectares are earmarked for a nine-hole golf course.
The 31 towers and supporting facilities, including a clubhouse, hotel, driving range, fitness center, jogging tracks, amphitheater and mini market, will be built on around 24 hectares. The towers will have a total of 8,700 apartments.
The company said that the apartments will be rented or sold to middle and upper class expatriates, wealthy Jakartans and people from other towns, such as Bandung in West Java, Semarang in Central Java and Surabaya in East Java.
The Jakarta Golf Club is to be located in the future town of Kota Bandar Baru Kemayoran, a 460 hectare area which is expected to function as a new center of business, trade and housing in Central Jakarta.
The company said that the Jakarta Golf Club, to be built with a total investment of US$750 million, is designed to be a well- planned, environmentally pleasant residential and business center.
The company is a consortium made up of the Napan Group, the Amcol Group and the Gajah Tunggal Group. (mas)
