Jakarta Free Transit Cards Sold on X Account, Pramono Urges Perpetrators to Be Probed

JAKARTA — An X account @lalaputriis is alleged to be selling Jakcard or the free transport service cards issued by the Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov DKI Jakarta). The cards are known to provide a free facility for 15 groups of people to use Transjakarta, MRT Jakarta and LRT Jakarta.

The Governor of Jakarta, Pramono Anung, has asked that the perpetrators be dealt with firmly, including if there is any indication of insider involvement.

‘I happen to be following this matter and I am asking that anyone involved, including if there are indications of insider involvement, be met with firm action,’ Pramono said at City Hall in Jakarta on Wednesday, 20 May 2026.

‘Because this is now part of the transparency in regulating the transport system in Jakarta, including the cards in question being handled transparently and openly,’ Pramono added.

In the post, the X account @lalaputriis offered the cards at a certain price.

‘Those who want Jakcard can have it for just 1xx.xxx and you can enjoy free Transjakarta, LRT and MRT for a year,’ the account wrote.

The account also claimed to have limited stock and urged prospective buyers who transfer first to obtain the cards.

‘There are many interested buyers but I only have five cards. And they are all on the way because they have to be registered. I’ll switch to the system where whoever transfers first gets it,’ another post read.

‘Hello guys, only two Jakcards left for a year of free travel on Transjakarta and MRT—come on, in this economy this is certainly hard to handle,’ it said.

‘Sold,’ the post concluded.

For information, the free transport cards for 15 groups are a facility from the Jakarta Provincial Government given to certain communities to use public transport free of charge. For the 15 registered groups, beneficiaries can ride Transjakarta, MRT Jakarta and LRT Jakarta for free.
