Jakarta Forecast to Experience Heavy Rain Through to 12 March
BPBD DKI Jakarta warns residents to anticipate extreme weather in the capital over the coming week. Acting BPBD Head Isnawa Adji said forecast data indicate that the DKI Jakarta region, including the Thousand Islands, is at risk of heavy to very heavy rain from 6 to 12 March 2026. ‘The rainfall potential for the next seven days from 6–12 March 2026 is heavy—very heavy—in DKI Jakarta and the Thousand Islands,’ he said. Such conditions could trigger hydrometeorological disasters such as waterlogging and floods in several locations. Preparedness is key to minimising potential impacts.
BPBD also urged residents to carry simple gear when outdoors, such as umbrellas or raincoats. In addition, residents are advised to prepare a disaster readiness kit. To monitor flood developments in real time, residents can access the Jakarta Provincial Government’s flood monitoring site, which features an RT-based map. ‘If you encounter an emergency requiring assistance, contact the Jakarta Siaga 112 call centre,’ he said.
BMKG forecasts for Jakarta today (5 March 2026) indicate light rain across most areas. The weather agency has warned that extreme weather potential may increase across several regions of Indonesia over the coming week.
