Jakarta Forecast to Be Partly Cloudy This Sunday
The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) forecasts that the Jakarta area will be partly cloudy throughout Sunday. According to BMKG’s @infobmkg page, all administrative areas of Jakarta and the Thousand Islands are predicted to be partly cloudy in the morning. Partly cloudy conditions will continue into the afternoon for West Jakarta, Central Jakarta, and South Jakarta, while North Jakarta and the Thousand Islands are forecast to be cloudy. In the evening, all city administrative areas are again predicted to be partly cloudy, while the Thousand Islands will remain cloudy. The temperature in the capital today is between 28 and 29 degrees Celsius. Previously, BMKG stated that the El Niño phenomenon in 2026 has become active and has the potential to reach a very strong level. This condition is predicted to trigger a drier and longer dry season in most parts of Indonesia, thereby increasing the risk of drought and various impacts on strategic sectors. Therefore, strengthened mitigation measures and national preparedness are required. The mitigation efforts undertaken are not only focused on drought but are also part of preparations to face potential wet hydrometeorological disasters at the end of the year.
