Jakarta was hit by floods on Sunday morning (8 March), affecting 17 Transjakarta routes. Operational adjustments were made, including diversions, shortened routes, and temporary suspensions, to ensure safety and comfort amid heavy rainfall causing flooding at several road sections.

Ayu Wardhani, Head of Public Relations and CSR at Transjakarta, said the adjustments took place on Sunday morning due to heavy rainfall causing flooding in several points.

“Due to heavy rainfall causing flooding at several points, we are adjusting operations this morning for the safety and comfort of all,” Ayu Wardhani said in a Jakarta statement cited by Antara.

Some BRT services changed routes. Corridor 2A route Pulogadung 1-Rawa Nangka was shortened to Damai due to floods on Corridor 3 near Pulo Nangka.

Corridor 3 Kalideres-Monas was shortened to Damai-Monas in both directions. Adjustments due to waterlogging and a road divider (MCB) that collapsed along that route.

Corridor 6 Ragunan-Galunggung diverted due to water around the underpass at Mampang.

Corridor 9 Pinang Ranti-Pluit diverted via Tol Slipi 1 due to flooding more than 30 centimetres after Grogol Halt.

Corridor 13E Puribeta-Kuningan diverted via the upper route due to flooding in the Underpass Mampang area.

In addition to BRT, adjustments also occurred for Mikrotrans services. Ten Mikrotrans routes were affected by floods, two of which were suspended temporarily.

Routes JAK.04 (Grogol-Jembatan Dua) and JAK.30 (Meruya-Citraland) were temporarily suspended due to floods at several points along crucial sections of their routes.

Meanwhile JAK.85 (Bintara-Cipinang Indah) was shortened due to flooding of 25-35 centimetres on Jalan Kompleks Cipinang Indah II.

Other Mikrotrans routes affected by diversions included JAK.108 (Kramat Jati-Bambu Apus), JAK.37 (Cililitan-Condet), JAK.53 (Grogol-Pos Pengumben), JAK.71 (Kampung Rambutan-Pinang Ranti), JAK.75 (Kampung Pulo-Cililitan), JAK.78A (Benda-Penjaringan), and JAK.93 (Jeruk Purut-Kebayoran Lama).

Adjustments were also made for integrated and non-BRT public transport. Route 1C (Blok M-Pesanggrahan) diverted due to around 50 centimetres of flooding on Jalan Ciledug Raya.

Non-BRT route 3E (Sentraland Cengkareng-Puri Kembangan) was suspended temporarily due to flooding at Simpang Kapuk.

Ayu apologised to customers for the inconvenience caused by the operational adjustments. She urged passengers to stay careful and adjust travel schedules by monitoring route developments periodically via the TJ: Transjakarta app or official social media channels.”
