JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Jakarta Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) recorded 12 RTs flooded in South Jakarta at 18:00 WIB on Saturday (2/5/2026). Previously, one RT was recorded as flooded around 16:00 WIB. “BPBD records that there are currently 12 RTs flooded,” said the Head of the Data and Information Centre (Kapusdatin) of the DKI Jakarta BPBD, Mohamad Yohan, in his statement on Saturday. Yohan revealed that the flooded areas are in South Jakarta, specifically in Petogogan sub-district. “Petogogan sub-district has 12 RTs with a height of 20 centimetres. The cause is high rainfall and the overflow of the Krukut River,” Yohan explained. Meanwhile, Jalan Ciledug Raya near ITC Cipulir, which was previously waterlogged, has receded and can now be passed by vehicles. BPBD is cooperating with the Water Resources Department (SDA), the Public Works Department, and the Environmental and Landscaping Department to suck up the puddles and ensure that the water channels function properly, together with the local lurahs and camats. “The puddles are targeted to recede quickly,” Yohan stated. “In emergency situations, immediately contact the telephone number 112. This service is free and operates 24 hours non-stop,” Yohan clarified.
