JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Activities in the heart of the capital are expected to proceed unusually on Friday (10/4/2026). Several strategic points in Central Jakarta will be filled with protest actions from morning until afternoon. Head of Public Relations Section of the Metro Jakarta Central Police Resort, First Inspector Erlyn Sumantri, stated that there are three demonstration actions taking place at different locations. The first action will occur in front of the Bank BRI Head Office, Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, starting at 09:00 WIB. This protest is being carried out by the Indonesian Law Students Union. The action will then continue in the afternoon at two locations simultaneously. The second demonstration will be held by the Indonesian Islamic Brotherhood Forum (FUII) along with several mass elements in the Horse Statue area and Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan, Gambir, starting at 13:00 WIB. At the same time, the third action will take place in front of the DPR/MPR Building, Senayan. This protest is organised by the Indonesian Youth Initiative Movement. To secure the course of the actions, a total of 453 combined police personnel have been prepared. She also advised the public to avoid the areas around the protest locations to anticipate traffic density. “Residents can seek other alternative routes during the protests,” said Erlyn. With three actions taking place in one day, the Central Jakarta area is expected to experience increased activity along with potential congestion, especially on major road arteries.
