Jakarta (ANTARA) - Organisers recorded that Jakarta Fair Kemayoran (JFK) 2026, part of the 499th Jakarta Anniversary celebrations, was visited by more than 1.5 million people with an average daily attendance of nearly 200,000 in the first week. “Looking at the current condition of Jakarta Fair, national economic movement, especially in Jakarta, shows very good development,” said DKI Jakarta Regional Secretary Uus Kuswanto in a written statement received in Jakarta on Sunday. He said that Jakarta Fair is a clear indicator that DKI’s economic condition is in a good and stable state. Furthermore, he said, since it was first held in 1968, Jakarta Fair has become an important space for business actors to market products while maintaining economic optimism. During its journey, the event was only suspended in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The annual event, Uus continued, besides being a promotional and entertainment space for the public, also encourages economic activity and strengthens the competitiveness of national products. Uus conveyed that the spirit of collaboration reflected in the organisation of Jakarta Fair and the 499th Jakarta Anniversary celebrations is important capital in welcoming Jakarta’s five-century age in 2027. This spirit is expected to further strengthen Jakarta’s steps as a global city that is advanced, proud, and brings happiness to its citizens. Previously, DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung targeted the transaction value during the 2026 Jakarta Fair Kemayoran held at JIEXPO to reach more than Rp8 trillion. This target is higher than last year’s achievement which recorded transactions of Rp7.3 trillion with a total of 5.9 million visitors.
