Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Jakarta Environmental Agency (DLH) is opening 264 jobs through a labour-intensive programme to handle waste in November and December 2026.

DLH Jakarta head Dudi Gardesi said the programme aims to provide economic benefits for the community while strengthening waste management in the capital. Residents will take part in collecting, sorting and processing waste.

“The labour-intensive programme gives residents the opportunity to earn an income while becoming directly involved in waste management. We hope it will provide economic benefits and support better waste management in Jakarta,” Dudi said in Jakarta on Friday.

The 264 vacancies comprise 139 organic and inorganic waste sorters, 25 support workers (helpers) at the Refuse-Derived Fuel (RDF) Plant, and 100 waste loaders.

Applications will be accepted from 23 to 25 October 2026 through the official Jakarta.go.id website. The positions are open to men and women who hold a Jakarta ID card (KTP DKI Jakarta).

Priority will be given to people in socioeconomic deciles 1–5. Applicants are not required to have a diploma or any specific formal educational qualifications.

“The programme is open to people from a range of educational backgrounds. We are prioritising residents in deciles 1–5 so that these job opportunities can reach people who need them,” Dudi said.

Successful applicants will work for two months, from November to December 2026, for 20 working days each month. They will be paid Rp174,748 per day.

RDF Plant support workers will help process waste into RDF, an alternative fuel made from waste. Waste loaders will load rubbish into collection vehicles and ensure none is scattered during transport.

DLH Jakarta hopes residents’ participation in the programme will support day-to-day waste management and help keep residential areas and public spaces clean.

Eligible residents can apply by completing their personal details and uploading their KTP through the official Jakarta.go.id website.

“We encourage people who meet the criteria to take advantage of this opportunity and play an active role in managing waste in Jakarta,” Dudi said.
