Jakarta Education Calendar for 2026/2027 Released: Key Dates and Download Link

The Jakarta Education Department has released the education calendar for the 2026/2027 academic year, as stipulated in the Decree of the Head of the Jakarta Education Department Number 346 of 2026. The calendar provides a comprehensive schedule for all educational levels, including early childhood education (PAUD), special needs schools (SLB), primary schools (SD), junior high schools (SMP), senior high schools (SMA), vocational schools (SMK), and equivalency programmes (Paket A, B, and C).

The first day of school for most students is Monday, 13 July 2026. However, the school orientation period (MPLS) for new students at PAUD, SLB, SD, SMP, SMA, and SMK levels will run from 13 to 17 July 2026. For new students in equivalency programmes, the orientation is scheduled for 27 to 31 July 2026, with regular classes commencing on 3 August 2026. The first semester runs from 13 July to 18 December 2026, followed by a two-week holiday. The second semester begins on 4 January 2027 and ends on 25 June 2027, with the subsequent holiday lasting until 10 July 2027. Report cards for the first semester will be distributed on 18 December 2026, and for the second semester on 25 June 2027.

The calendar also lists national public holidays for the period, including Independence Day on 17 August 2026, Christmas on 25 December 2026, New Year 2027, Idulfitri in March 2027, and the Birth of Pancasila on 1 June 2027. A PDF version of the full calendar is available for download.
