Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Sub-Directorate of Population and Civil Registration (Dukcapil) in East Jakarta has recorded 368 new migrants who have processed their population administration (adminduk) by reporting their incoming relocation. “From 25 March to 31 March 2026, a total of 368 new migrants have reported their incoming relocation to the East Jakarta area,” said the Head of the East Jakarta Dukcapil Sub-Directorate, Ade Himawan, when contacted by ANTARA in Jakarta on Thursday. The data was obtained through the Population Administration Information System (SIAK). Of the total, the migrants consist of 189 males and 179 females. “This data represents the official figures from residents who have reported themselves and processed their population administration in accordance with applicable procedures,” he stated. However, this number does not yet reflect all migrants entering East Jakarta, so there is still a possibility of residents who have arrived but have not yet reported to local authorities. Ade urged new migrants or visitors to promptly report to local community administrators, from neighbourhood units (RT) to community associations (RW), at the latest within 1x24 hours. Such reporting is an important step to ensure orderly population administration and facilitate the government in conducting data collection and public services. Additionally, reporting is part of efforts to maintain security and public order in the community. To date, the East Jakarta Dukcapil Sub-Directorate continues to conduct outreach to the public regarding the importance of population administration reporting, especially for new migrants following periods typically accompanied by increased urbanisation flows. With accurate data, Ade said, the government can design more targeted policies, particularly in public services, development planning, and controlling population growth in the East Jakarta area.
