Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Jakarta East City Government (Pemkot Jaktim) is strengthening health services at crowding centres to face the homecoming flow and the celebration of Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijri/Eid 2026.

“Health personnel readiness must be optimal, especially at locations with high mobility,” said Jakarta East Mayor Munjirin in Jakarta on Wednesday.

He also stated that he has instructed the Health Sub-District Office to ensure the availability of medical personnel and medicines at various strategic points, including crowding centres, mudik routes, and security posts.

This step is taken to provide fast and optimal services.

According to Munjirin, the increase in public activity during homecoming and Eid has the potential to cause various health risks, so the presence of medical officers in the field is very important.

With this readiness, the Jakarta East City Government hopes that the public can celebrate Eid al-Fitr safely, comfortably, and still receive health services.

Previously, the Jakarta East City Government stated its readiness to secure the takbiran night celebration of Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijri along with the 2026 Eid homecoming flow.

“Alhamdulillah, the preparations ahead of the takbiran night celebration of Eid al-Fitr and the upcoming homecoming flow have all been carried out in accordance with the existing standard operational procedures (SOP),” said Jakarta East Mayor Munjirin on 12 March 2026.

Munjirin mentioned that the meeting was held to ensure that all security preparations run according to the established procedures.

“Earlier we started with a leadership meeting (rapim) related to the security of the Eid al-Fitr celebration as well as the homecoming flow. It has been presented by the city government ranks, police, TNI, as well as the Prosecutor’s Office. Health also presented earlier, including the Director of Duren Sawit General Hospital,” explained Munjirin.

He stated that all involved agencies have conveyed their respective readiness, both in terms of regional security, health services, and readiness to face potential surges in public activity during the Eid holiday.

In addition, he also explained that the city government together with TNI-Polri elements and related agencies will carry out security in accordance with applicable standard operational procedures (SOP).

This security includes supervision of takbiran night activities, traffic flow management, and readiness of health facilities.
