Jakarta DPRD Approves 2025 Budget Accountability Bylaw
The Jakarta Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) has approved the draft regional regulation (Ranperda) concerning the Accountability of Regional Budget Implementation (P2APBD) for the 2025 Fiscal Year, converting it into a regional regulation (Perda) during a Plenary Session held in Jakarta on Monday.
The Deputy Chairperson of the Jakarta DPRD and leader of the Plenary Session, Ima Mahdiah, stated that the approved draft regulation will be submitted to the Governor of Jakarta for follow-up in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
“It is our hope that the Governor will take into account the suggestions and expectations presented by the DPRD,” said Ima during the session.
Ima noted that prior to bringing the draft regulation to the Plenary Session, the Jakarta DPRD had conducted discussions through several stages, ranging from the delivery of the Governor’s speech to the presentation of general views from various political factions.
The deliberation process also included the Governor’s response to the factions’ general views, working meetings between commissions and the executive branch, budget committee meetings with commission leaders and the executive, and leadership meetings between the DPRD and the executive.
“This process can serve as a moment for improvement and evaluation of local government performance to enhance quality, starting from the planning and implementation stages through to accountability,” Ima added.
Meanwhile, Husen, a member of the Jakarta DPRD Budget Committee, stated that the discussions and in-depth reviews covered revenue achievements and regional development expenditures for 2025.
The deliberations also addressed the obligations regarding social and public facilities (fasos and fasum) that have not yet been handed over by developers, the necessity for concrete follow-up on findings by the Audit Board of Indonesia (BPK) regarding financial reports, and the acceleration of regional asset security.
Moving forward, the factions within the Jakarta DPRD will summarise the Governor’s explanations regarding the draft regulation to form the basis of their general views, the results of which will be presented in a plenary session on Tuesday, 14 July 2026, at 10:00 WIB.
