Jakarta Disaster Agency Reports Pasar Ikan Floodgate Elevated to Alert Level 2
Jakarta (ANTARA) — The Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) has reported that the Pasar Ikan floodgate in Penjaringan, North Jakarta, has been elevated to Alert Level 2 (Siaga 2) on Tuesday.
According to information posted on BPBD DKI Jakarta’s official X social media account (@BPBDJakarta), the water level at the Pasar Ikan floodgate stood at 197 cm at 00:00 Western Indonesian Time, placing it at Caution status, or Alert Level 3.
By 01:00 Western Indonesian Time, the water level at the Pasar Ikan floodgate had risen to 203 cm, elevating its status to Alert Level 2.
“Areas anticipated to be potentially affected include Kamal Muara, Kapuk Muara, Penjaringan, Pluit, Ancol, Kamal, Marunda, Cilincing, and Kalibaru,” BPBD wrote on its official X account @BPBDJakarta.
BPBD DKI Jakarta has disseminated information through social media and issued notifications to sub-district and village heads regarding the elevated status of the Pasar Ikan floodgate.
In the event of an emergency, residents are urged to contact the Jakarta Siaga call centre on 112.
Meanwhile, other floodgate locations — including Katulampa, Depok, Manggarai, Karet, Krukut Hulu, Pesanggrahan, Angke Hulu, Waduk Pluit, Cipinang Hulu, Sunter Hulu, and Pulo Gadung — have been reported as being at normal status, or Alert Level 4.
