The Jakarta provincial government carried out water mist spraying on a number of the capital’s main roads on Sunday (6/9/2026). The measure was taken to anticipate the impact of volcanic ash dispersal from Mount Anak Krakatau, while also helping to reduce air pollution and hot temperatures in areas with heavy traffic activity.

Personnel from the Jakarta Environmental Agency sprayed water mist along Jalan Jenderal Sudirman. The spraying was conducted on several road sections in the capital as a precautionary step against exposure to volcanic ash from Mount Anak Krakatau.

Operational vehicles from the Jakarta Environmental Agency also sprayed water mist along Jalan Mampang Prapatan Raya. The water mist spraying along Jalan HR Rasuna Said to Jalan Warung Jati Barat was one of the efforts to reduce air pollution as well as lower hot temperatures in areas with dense traffic.
