Jakarta – The Jakarta Provincial Democratic Party (DPD Partai Demokrat) is beginning to chart steps to face the 2029 general elections. The party is conducting internal consolidation to preserve its grassroots support base.

Mujiyono, head of the Jakarta Provincial DPD, said the consolidation aims to tighten cohesion and strengthen the organisation ahead of the forthcoming political agenda. One of the measures is to safeguard the network of volunteers who are part of Rumah Aspirasi Mujiyono (RAM).

‘Consolidation does not have to be only discussions. Gathering together, sustaining fraternity and togetherness also constitutes consolidation. Moreover, this is conducted during Ramadan, so we will break the fast together,’ Mujiyono said on Saturday, 7 March 2026.

The activity was held at Gedung Gorga 2, Pondok Bambu, East Jakarta. On that occasion Mujiyono also provided charitable contributions and Eid gifts to RAM members and volunteers.

According to Mujiyono, the activity aims to strengthen ties of brotherhood and solidarity among volunteers. This step is also considered important to maintain the militancy of the volunteers network at the community level.

The secretary of Commission A of the Jakarta Provincial DPRD said that silaturahim (the practice of fostering relationships) is an important foundation in building the strength of the organisation. Therefore, similar activities will continue to be held ahead of the 2029 momentum.

‘This activity is also part of the initial steps to prepare political strength towards the political year 2029. However, for now, we are focusing on repairing/strengthening the organisation at the electoral district level,’ Mujiyono said.

Mujiyono noted that internal preparations had started early. To date his team has prepared more than 1,000 polling station witnesses in the East Jakarta electoral district 5.

But that number is still far from the target to be achieved ahead of the 2029 elections. Mujiyono targets around 9,000 volunteers and polling station witnesses across various areas of East Jakarta, which forms the base of his electoral district.

Mujiyono emphasised that the activities were conducted in a simple and simultaneous manner in several areas across Jakarta. In addition to political consolidation, the activities were also carried out in a spirit of service to the community.

‘We do not need to quantify electability. What matters is to wholeheartedly help the people. God willing, this will be a good deed and bring benefits to the people,’ Mujiyono said.
